Commercial HVAC retrofit company in New Jersey
Rivet Energy is a commercial HVAC retrofit company working across all 21 New Jersey counties. We run the survey, the energy model, the incentive application and the utility coordination, and licensed partner contractors carry out the installation. Utility incentives commonly cover 50 to 80% of the project.
What we run
The equipment is rarely what stops a building doing this work. The administration is. That is the part we take on.
- 01
Building survey
Every piece of plant logged — age, capacity, condition, controls and runtime.
- 02
Energy model
Twelve months of your actual electric and gas usage modeled against the replacement.
- 03
Incentive application
Filed with your utility and managed through approval. This is the step that stops most buildings.
- 04
Utility coordination
Pre-inspection, approval, verification and settlement, handled on your behalf.
- 05
Installation oversight
Carried out by licensed partner contractors, scheduled around how the building is used.
- 06
Close-out
Commissioned with recorded readings, verified, and the incentive settled.
Who we work with
Facility managers, property managers, building owners and general contractors, on commercial and multifamily buildings across New Jersey. The buildings where this works best are the older ones — plant that is oversized, inefficient or long past its best years, because the incentive is calculated from the waste being removed rather than from the equipment going in.
We do not work on single-family homes, and we do not offer repairs, maintenance or emergency service. All 21 New Jersey counties are covered.
Common questions
Are you an HVAC contractor?
No. We are the efficiency and incentive side of a retrofit — the survey, the energy model, the application and the utility coordination. The mechanical work is carried out by licensed installing contractors we work with.
What does it cost to work with you?
The survey and energy model are how we establish whether a project exists at all. Talk to us about the building and we will tell you where you stand before anyone commits to anything.
Which buildings do you work on?
Commercial and multifamily only — apartment and condominium properties, offices, retail, warehouses, hotels and institutional buildings. We do not work on single-family homes and we do not offer repairs, maintenance or emergency service.
What do you need from us to start?
Twelve months of electric bills, twelve months of gas bills, the utility account details, and access to walk the building. Both fuels matter, because most New Jersey buildings are billed by two different companies running two separate incentive programs.
How much of the cost do incentives cover?
Typical incentives run 50–80% of total project cost, with most projects landing at up to 70%. The final number depends on your utility tier and the building's energy usage.
