Atlantic City Electric Commercial HVAC Rebates

Atlantic City Electric serves the southern end of the state, including the largest concentration of hotel rooms in New Jersey. That shapes what the retrofit work looks like here more than anything else.

Why is hospitality such a large category here?

Because Atlantic City and the surrounding shore hold an enormous number of hotel rooms, and hotel rooms mean PTAC units — hundreds per property, most heating with electric resistance.

Electric resistance heating is the most expensive way to produce heat, and a property running hundreds of those units around the clock has one of the clearest efficiency cases available anywhere in the state.

Swapping to packaged terminal heat pumps in the existing wall sleeves changes the heating economics of the whole property without touching the building fabric.

What about coastal corrosion?

It is the defining local factor. Salt exposure across Atlantic and Cape May counties corrodes sleeves, coils and cabinets far faster than inland, and equipment specification has to reflect that.

On coastal properties, sleeve replacement is more often part of a PTAC changeout scope than it is inland, and corrosion-resistant equipment is specified as standard rather than as an upgrade.

Is there work outside hospitality here?

Yes — agricultural and food processing through Cumberland and Salem, plus distribution along the Route 55 and Route 42 corridors.

Common questions

Is my building in ACE territory?

Check your electric bill. ACE covers most of the south, though PSE&G reaches into parts of Camden, Gloucester and Burlington.

Does seasonal occupancy hurt the application?

No. It is a factor in the energy model, not a disqualifier.

What about gas incentives?

Gas across most of this territory is South Jersey Gas, which runs its own programs.
